As early as the end of November, the first snow arrives and offers snow-hungry vacationers from near and far the very best natural snow conditions.

Skiing
Did you know that the very first ski lift in Middle Europe was built 1907 at Bödele? Ever since then, skiing is a tradition and a must.The Bödele ski area with its 9 lifts and 24km of well-prepared skiing slopes from beginner to advanced level is located just in front of our house and highly suited for families with children.
Right next door you will find a ski rental shop as well as the Ski School Bödele. Within a 2 km radius there are 10 further top skiing areas of our region – even Lech am Arlberg. By the way, the ski bus stops right in front of our hotel.
Cross-country skiing
Right next to our hotel you will find the nature reserve area “Fohramoos”, through which two of the most beautiful cross-country skiing trails pass. Depending on your endurance you can choose between a 3 km and 9 km trail that guides you through untouched alpine nature and idyllic pastures.For a special occasion you can also make use of the trails after sunset – a unique experience you will never forget.
Sledging
Sledging is by far one of the best ways to enjoy winter. Especially children love the great sledging hill we have in front of our house when meanwhile the adults try to warm up inside.“Ready, set, go!” A family-friendly and natural sledging track will guide you through an idyllic hiking trail all the way to Ammenegg. By bus, you can easily return to the mountain pass and our hotel. For your convenience, you will also find a sledge hire outlet close by
Ski touring
The Bregenzerwald area is quite a paradise for ski tour lovers – no matter if beginner, intermediate or advanced. Before you start head-over-heels, we recommend for you to try our “own local mountain”, the Hochälpelekopf, which rewards you with one of the most beautiful viewing points over the Rhine Valley.By the way, the Hochälpele Cottage House awaits you with its very unique mountain lodge magic in order for you to enjoy the descent to our hotel even at night.

Should you feel the need for some relaxation after all your sport activities, we can recommend numerous further activities, such as horse-drawn sleigh rides, museums and exhibitions, Christmas markets, Advent concerts. Should you wish to simply sit back and relax, you may enjoy a good book beside the crackling fireplace or just let yourself get inspired by the beautiful nature and alpine scenery.

Bödele is not just a place for winter sports enthusiasts for it is very attractive during summer time and offers a great variety of possibilities and activities – recommendable especially even for children.

Lake Bödele
Right around the corner of our hotel, right next to an idyllic little chapel, you will stumble upon Lake Bödele, which you can easily circled on foot. However, only the toughest dare to jump in. By the way, by proving your dip in winter in the lake with a picture, you will receive a free drink on our sun terrace as a guest of our house.Mountain-/Roadbiking
A wide range of mountain bike trails – suitable for any level – can be found all across the Bregenzerwald area which still is an insiders’ tip.Ambitious racing cyclists will find what they are looking for: either a shallow stretch around the Lake of Constance or a more challenging route through the mountainous area of the Bregenzerwald.
